KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel, along with First Lady Sabita Paudel, visited the Dakshinkali Temple on Monday morning to offer prayers to Goddess Dakshinkali on the occasion of Dashain.

They also received tika and offerings from the temple priest.

The Dakshinkali Temple, located in Dakshinkali Municipality in the southern part of Kathmandu, is regarded as one of the valley’s most significant Shakti Peeths (power centers).

On this occasion, Mohan Basnet, the Mayor of Dakshinkali Municipality, briefed the President on the damage caused by recent floods in the temple area.

He requested support for relief efforts for the victims and assistance in the reconstruction of the temple area. Basnet also emphasized the need for the prompt reconstruction of the Kathmandu-Makwanpur road to ensure uninterrupted transportation.

Expressing sympathy for the loss of life and property caused by the floods and landslides in the area, President Paudel assured that he would draw the government’s attention toward providing relief to the victims and supporting the reconstruction of the temple and road.

Local government representatives, temple management officials, and the general public warmly welcomed President Paudel during the visit.
