CPN (UML) deposits Rs 5 million to PMDRF

KATHMANDU: The CPN (UML), has deposited Rs 5 million to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund.
This deposit was formally presented to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday during a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar, led by senior party vice-chair Ishwar Pokhrel.
Prime Minister Oli emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in addressing disasters and stated that the government would take the lead in these efforts.
He clarified that all levels of government and state bodies are actively engaged in disaster response.
The decision to donate Rs 5 million and an amount equivalent to half a month’s salary of the party’s Members of Parliament was made during the CPN (UML) Secretariat and Parliamentary Party meeting on Ashwin 15 (Oct 1).
The event was attended by several prominent leaders, including Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, Deputy General Secretaries Pradip Kumar Gyawali, Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Prithvi Subba Gurung, Secretary Raghuveer Mahaseth, and other party officials.
