KATHMANDU: Inter Milan has ascended to second place in the Serie A standings following a thrilling 3-2 victory over Torino on Saturday night.

With this win, Inter has amassed 14 points from seven matches, just two points shy of league leaders Napoli, while Torino sits in sixth place with 11 points.

The match took a decisive turn in the 20th minute when Guillermo Maripan received a red card, leaving Torino with only ten players.

Capitalizing on this advantage, Inter took a commanding 2-0 lead by the 35th minute, both goals scored by Marcus Thuram.

Torino attempted to mount a comeback when Duván Zapata scored in the 36th minute, bringing the score to 2-1.

However, Thuram struck again in the 60th minute, extending Inter’s lead to 3-1.

Although Nikola Vlasic scored a penalty in the 86th minute for Torino, it was not enough to alter the outcome of the match, sealing Inter’s victory.
