KATHMANDU: Transportation along the Hetauda-Chitlang-Chandragiri-Kathmandu section of the Tribhuvan Highway has resumed as of this morning.

The local administration had halted all vehicular movement on the road following a heavy rainfall warning issued by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, but the restriction was lifted after the situation improved.

According to Thakur Prasad Sapkota, Acting Spokesperson of the Makawanpur District Police Office, vehicles are now allowed to operate as there are no longer any obstructions on the road.

Light vehicles are also running along the Hetauda-Palung-Naubise section.

The Department of Roads, security forces, and technical teams from the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development of Bagmati State are working to clear all roadblocks caused by floods and landslides.

Chief District Officer Tirtha Raj Chiluwal mentioned that four machines are being used to clear the landslide that brought large boulders onto the Golping Bensi area of the Hetaunda-Bhaise-Ratomate section, which connects Hetaunda to Kathmandu.

A joint team of the Roads Department and security forces has already cleared the landslide from Deurali in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-6 to Simkhola in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-2.

Work is also underway to rebuild the Kulekhani Bridge, which was washed away by floods in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-2.

Meanwhile, two machines have been deployed to remove landslides along the Mahalaxmi Khola-Pakel section and Pakel-Farping section of the Dakshinkali-Farping road.
