Bhimadevi held for ‘Honey Trap’ scheme in conspiracy with inspector Binukumari

KATHMANDU: In an extortion case in Bhainsepati, Lalitpur, police have arrested an additional suspect, Bhimadevi Thapa from Itahari.

She was apprehended on Thursday, following the earlier arrests of Sushma BK and Taj Islam.

The trio allegedly extorted 30 million Nepali Rupees from a businessman by threatening to falsely implicate him in a rape case in collusion with Inspector Binukumari Shahi from the local police station.

Out of the total amount, 20 million rupees were deposited into Thapa’s bank account.

Police reported that Thapa claimed to be unaware of the situation, stating that Taj had been using her account.

Binukumari, who has faced controversies in the past, has been deemed irresponsible by the valley police during this incident.
