Airlines add more flights but keep fares unchanged

KATHMANDU: Due to the significant increase in the number of air passengers, airlines have added more flights.
According to Buddha Air’s information officer, Dipendra Kumar Karn, the company has added two additional flights each to Bhadrapur and Bharatpur.
Buddha Air, which currently operates around 150 daily round-trip flights to various destinations, has increased flights due to rising passenger demand.
Shree Airlines is also set to begin flights on the Kathmandu-Bharatpur-Kathmandu route starting Friday, as confirmed by the company’s corporate manager, Anil Manandhar. Initially, the company will operate chartered flights, followed by regular services.
Similarly, Yeti Airlines has added one more flight on the Kathmandu-Bhadrapur-Kathmandu and Kathmandu-Nepalgunj-Kathmandu routes, starting from Oct 1st.
Additionally, the airline will introduce a new flight on the Kathmandu-Janakpur-Kathmandu route from Oct 4th, as informed by Yeti Airlines’ spokesperson, Sudarshan Bartaula.
Due to continuous rainfall, causing road blockages due to floods and landslides in various parts of the country, the number of air passengers has surged. In response, airlines are increasing flights to ensure passengers reach their destinations.
According to Tribhuvan International Airport, there were 182 domestic flights, including helicopters, and 182 landings on Wednesday, with a total of 17,004 passengers flying on that day.
On the international side, there were 52 flights and 52 landings, with 15,962 passengers using the services.
The airport reported a total of 599 flights on Monday, 511 on Tuesday, and 473 on Wednesday.
