Applications open for 2026 Diversity Visa: Here’s how to apply

KATHMANDU: The United States has opened applications for the Diversity Visa (DV) program for the year 2026.
The application period will commence on Oct 2 at 9:45 PM and will remain open until Nov 5.
The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu announced in a press release that the application process is free of charge.
The embassy has also advised applicants that there is no need for a consultant, encouraging them not to seek external assistance.
Instead, they suggested seeking help from family members, friends, or other trusted individuals if needed.
It is mandatory to list spouses and all unmarried children under the age of 21 on the application form.
Applicants are required to submit a recently taken photograph for the DV program.
Unlike previous years, a passport is no longer required to apply for the DV program.
Information regarding whether applicants were selected or not will be available after May 3, 2025.
