KATHMANDU: In the ongoing triangular T20 series in Canada, Nepal secured a convincing victory over Oman, winning by 56 runs in a match held in King City on Wednesday night.

After setting a target of 158 runs, Oman was bowled out for 101 runs in 19.5 overs. Jisan Maqsood was the top scorer for Oman with 35 runs, while Akib Ilyas contributed 22 runs.

Earlier, Nepal batted first and scored 157 runs, losing seven wickets in the process. Captain Rohit Paudel’s outstanding performance was crucial in leading Nepal to this significant win.

Nepal’s bowlers excelled, with Kushal Bhurtel taking three wickets, and Rohit Paudel and Sandeep Lamichhane each claiming two wickets.

Opting to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal set a total of 157 runs in their 20 overs.

Captain Rohit Paudel played a pivotal role in the innings, scoring 56 runs off 44 balls, including two fours and four sixes.

The opening batsmen contributed as follows: Anil Sah scored 11 runs, Aasif Sheikh made 16 runs, Dev Khanal added 18 runs, Dipendra Singh Airee managed just 1 run, Gulshan Jha scored 2 runs, and Kushal Bhurtel contributed 11 runs before being dismissed.
