KATHMANDU: The government has announced the opening of route permits across the country starting today, a decision that will remain in effect until the purnima of Dashain.
Initially, the government had planned to open route permits only from the day of Dashain’s Ghatasthapana.
However, due to continuous rainfall leading to blocked highways and roads, and the need to rescue passengers stranded by natural disasters, the decision was made to open route permits as of Monday.
The authorities stated that the existing route permits were causing difficulties, prompting the need for a nationwide opening.
With the Dashain festival and other major celebrations approaching, there has been an increase in the number of travelers leaving the Kathmandu Valley.
