Heavy rainfall expected on Wednesday & Thursday in parts of Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted generally clear weather across the country, with a few regions in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States likely to experience light to moderate rain.

The division indicates that monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country.

A low-pressure system over central India is partially influencing Nepal’s weather, causing partial to general cloud cover in hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States during the day. The rest of the country is expected to experience mostly clear skies with only partial cloud cover.

The division also noted that some areas in Koshi State and a few hilly parts of Bagmati and Gandaki States are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning.

Tonight, partial to general cloud cover is expected in hilly regions of the country, while other areas will remain mostly clear.

Thunderstorms with light to moderate rainfall are possible in isolated areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States.

Tuesday, 15th Ashoj

Day: Partially to generally cloudy skies are expected in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States, while the rest of the country will have mostly clear weather with some clouds. A few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States, and isolated hilly areas in other provinces, may experience thunderstorms with light to moderate rain.

Night: Partial to general cloud cover is expected in the hilly regions of Koshi State, with mostly clear skies elsewhere. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki States.

Wednesday, 16th Ashoj

Day: Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki States will have partial to general cloud cover, while the rest of the country will experience clear weather with some clouds. Light to moderate rain is expected in a few areas of Koshi and Bagmati States, as well as in some parts of Gandaki. Thunderstorms with light rain may occur in isolated areas of other States. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in Koshi and Bagmati States.

Night: Partial to general cloud cover will persist in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki States, while the rest of the country will remain clear with partial cloud cover. Some areas in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki States could experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, and heavy rainfall is possible in one or two places in Koshi State.

Thursday, 17th Ashoj

Day: Partial to general cloud cover will continue in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki States. Light to moderate rain is expected in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Madhesh, and Gandaki States, while isolated thunderstorms with light rain may occur in other regions. Heavy rainfall may occur in one or two places in Koshi State.

Night: Cloud cover will persist in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Gandaki States, while other regions will remain mostly clear with some clouds. Some areas in Koshi, Bagmati, Madhesh, Lumbini, and Gandaki States may experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, and light rain is possible in isolated areas across the country.
