KATHMANDU: Six young football players from the ANFA Academy in Sisneri, who lost their lives in a landslide caused by heavy rainfall, have been laid to rest.

The final rites of Divas Baniya and Priyans Acharya were performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat in Kathmandu.

The bodies of Anupam Ghalan, Simon Yonjan, and Bikal Regmi were transported to their home district of Makwanpur via helicopter.

Preparations are underway to send the body of Aditya Balampakhi to his home in Raniganj, Lalbandi-17, Sarlahi, also by helicopter.

The six players, Divas Baniya, Priyans Acharya, Anupam Ghalan, Simon Yonjan, Bikal Regmi, and Aditya Balampakhi, tragically lost their lives in a landslide onSept 27 and 28.

The incident occurred while they were moving to a safer location from the training center of Shree Vatsalya Devi Secondary School, located in Ward No. 3 of Indrasarovar Rural Municipality, Makwanpur.
