KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has summoned the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Dhading and Kavre districts due to their lack of responsiveness in disaster risk management and mitigation.

Rajendra Dev Pandey, the CDO of Dhading, and Surya Prasad Sedai, the CDO of Kavre, have been transferred, according to Rishiram Tiwari, Joint Secretary and spokesperson of the Ministry.

The ministry has replaced Pandey with Suman Ghimire in Dhading and Sedai with Umesh Dhakal in Kavre.

Spokesperson Tiwari claims that these transfers are part of a routine reshuffle.

However, it comes in the wake of significant damage to life and property in both Dhading and Kavre, following continuous rainfall since Ashoj 10.
