Forecast success: Department’s prediction proves accurate
The department had advised high alertness and placed 27 districts on the high-risk list.
KATHMANDU: The forecast made by the Department has been quite accurate this time.
On Sept 28th, the department had predicted heavy rainfall in many parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini States, with the possibility of very heavy rainfall in some areas.
Prior to this, on Sept 23th, the department had issued a special bulletin urging caution, as heavy rainfall was expected across all States from Sept 24th to 28th.
The department had advised high alertness and placed 27 districts on the high-risk list.
It had predicted flooding in urban and lowland areas, with rising water levels in large, medium, and small rivers.
Additionally, the department had warned farmers not to harvest paddy crops and advised travelers to take precautions and prepare in advance.
