KATHMANDU: In a thrilling Premier League match on Saturday night, Newcastle United held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw. This marked City’s second consecutive draw in the league.

After winning their first four matches of the season, Manchester City played to a 2-2 draw against Arsenal last Sunday.

On Saturday, two of City’s key title rivals, Arsenal and Liverpool, were in action against Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, respectively.

This was City’s first league game without influential midfielder Rodri, who was sidelined due to an injury. However, the defending champions failed to impress at St. James’ Park.

Josko Gvardiol gave City the lead in the 35th minute with a well-placed goal.

But in the 58th minute, Anthony Gordon equalized for Newcastle from the penalty spot, forcing City to share the points.
