Rivers in seven districts remain above danger level

KATHMANDU: Since Thursday night, continuous rainfall until Saturday evening caused flooding in most of the small and large rivers across the country.

Although the rain subsided slightly by Saturday evening, the Flood Forecasting Division has reported that water levels in several rivers across seven districts remain above the danger level.

According to the division, rivers such as the Manohara River at Balkumari in Kathmandu, the Bagmati River at Khokana in Lalitpur, the Arun River at Simle in Dhankuta, the Sunkoshi River at Khurkot in Sindhuli, the Sunkoshi River at Hampachaur in Bhojpur, the Tamor River at Tribeni in Dhankuta, and the Saptakoshi River at Chatara in Sunsari are still above the danger level.

Similarly, the Bagmati River in Makwanpur, the Pasaha River at Maheshpur in Bara, the Sunkoshi River at Dolalghat in Sindhupalchowk, the Tamor River at Majhitar in Panchthar, and the Sunsari River along the East-West Highway in Sunsari are also flowing above the alert level.
