KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall has led to disaster events in various locations across the country, resulting in the deaths of six individuals so far.

According to Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, seven people have been injured and seven others are reported missing due to incidents such as landslides and flooding.

Landslides have buried several houses in districts including Panchthar, Dhankuta, Kavrepalanchowk, and Lalitpur, leading to human casualties.

A complete report on the extent of the damage is still pending.

Search operations are ongoing for those missing due to the flooding and landslides.

The recent disaster has displaced around 400 citizens, who have been moved to safer locations. Karki stated that efforts are underway to manage the rescued individuals efficiently.

According to the police spokesperson, disaster events, including landslides and flooding, have occurred in more than 150 locations.

Nearly all highways and major roads are blocked in 28 areas, causing significant disruption to transportation and access.
