KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has predicted heavy rainfall in some areas today as well.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in many places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali States, and a few places in Sudurpaschim State.
Heavy rainfall is also expected in some areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini States, as well as in isolated places of the remaining States.
In some parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini States, very heavy and extremely heavy rainfall is anticipated.
The department also noted that some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim States might experience strong winds.
Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally to fully cloudy across the country.
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is forecast in many places of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini States, while a few places in the remaining States may also experience rain.
Heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and a few locations in Karnali State.
Additionally, there is a possibility of strong winds in some parts of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim States.
The department has warned of possible landslides in areas where heavy and extremely heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected. It has also urged people to be cautious of risks related to erosion and other disasters, which may affect riverbank constructions, daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transport.
Since Friday, continuous rainfall has caused rivers in 13 different locations to cross the danger level.
