KATHMANDU: Pathao Nepal, a leading ride-sharing platform in the country, has marked six years of successful operations.

To commemorate its anniversary and align with its vision of becoming a super app, the company has introduced three new services aimed at enhancing customer convenience.

Managing Director Asim Man Singh Basnet announced that the new services are designed to provide customers with a variety of options through a single app. “Currently, we offer ride-sharing, food delivery, and parcel delivery.

With these new additions, we aim to further streamline customer experience,” he stated. Initially, the new services will be available only in the Kathmandu Valley.

Pathao has already digitized ride-sharing, food delivery, and parcel services and is now launching “Pathao Kirana,” “Pathao Khaja Ghar,” and “Pathao Games.” Under the Pathao Kirana service, customers can easily purchase goods from local grocery stores directly through the Pathao app. This service will be available in the app’s marketplace section. Meanwhile, Pathao Khaja Ghar will allow users to order snacks from local eateries online.

Vendors wishing to join Pathao Kirana and Pathao Khaja Ghar must be registered on the platform.

For the first six months, these vendors will enjoy free services, meaning they won’t have to pay any commission fees for transactions conducted through Pathao Kirana and Pathao Khaja Ghar, as noted by Basnyat.

Interested vendors can contact Pathao Nepal at 01-5970099 for registration, after which the company will set up an e-store and provide them with a dashboard.

This dashboard will enable vendors to manage orders, track sales data, maintain inventory, and oversee store hours. The dashboard will be accessible via the company’s restaurant app.

Delivery will be handled by the staff of the grocery or snack shop.

Initially, Pathao Kirana and Pathao Khaja Ghar will operate in a straightforward manner, but the company plans to fully transition to a digital platform within a year.

Additionally, to celebrate its anniversary, Pathao is launching the “Pathao Games” service for customer entertainment. Players will earn points that can be redeemed for gifts and discounts on Pathao services. Customers can access the games through the app’s homepage. The introduction of these services aims to make local users e-smart.

As part of the celebrations, Pathao is also hosting the “Pathao Parcel Delivery Festival,” offering parcel delivery across Nepal for just 1 Nepali Rupee until Ashwin 14.

Pathao Nepal began its services with bike ride-sharing on Sept 24, 2018, and expanded to include car (taxi) services on Aug 9, 2019.
