KATHMANDU: The results of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) Grade Increment (Supplementary) Examination have been published.

According to the Examination Control Office, out of 210,321 students who appeared for the exam, 56.78% or 119,425 students passed the exam.

The supplementary examination for SEE Class 10, held in 2080 BS, took place from Aug 7 to 15 (Shrawan 23 to 31).

As per the Examination Control Office, 90,888 students either received no grade (NG) or were absent from the exam, while the answer sheets of 8 students were canceled.

The results show that 18 students scored a GPA between 3.61 and 4, while 64 students scored between 1.6 and 2.0 GPA.

Similarly, 19,496 students achieved a GPA between 2.01 and 2.4, 74,406 students scored between 2.41 and 2.8 GPA, and 23,623 students scored between 2.81 and 3.0 GPA. Additionally, 1,518 students scored a GPA between 3.1 and 3.6.

According to the 2078 Letter Grading Directive, students must secure 35% in the theoretical part and 40% in the internal evaluation of the subjects they appeared for.

Specifically, for subjects with a total of 75 marks in theory, a minimum of 27 marks must be obtained, while at least 10 marks must be secured in the internal evaluation, which carries 25 marks.

The exam results also stipulate that if students receive an NG (No Grade) in any subject, they are allowed to participate in the next annual examination for grade improvement, provided they have received NG in the same subject for three consecutive years.

In the regular SEE exam conducted in 2080 BS, only 47.86% of students passed. Consequently, the government provided all failed students with the opportunity to sit for the supplementary exam.
