Kaski District Court grants 5-day custody for former Gorkha Media director

KATHMANDU: The Kaski District Court has granted a 5-day custody order for Chhabilal Joshi, the former director of Gorkha Media Network, who was arrested in connection with a cooperative fund embezzlement case.

Joshi, a former Deputy Inspector General (DIG), was apprehended in Kathmandu on Sunday.
The Parliamentary Special Committee investigating the misuse of savings in the cooperative has recommended action against Gorkha Media Network’s chair, Giteendra Babu (GB) Rai, treasurer Kumar Ramtel, former director Joshi, and managing director Rabi Lamichhane in accordance with the law.
During a cabinet meeting held on Sept 18, a decision was made to forward the committee’s report for implementation by the government.
