Cooperative Fraud Case: Chhabilal Joshi being transferred to Pokhara

KATHMANDU: Chhabilal Joshi, the former director of Gorakha Media Network, who was arrested in a cooperative fraud case, is set to be transported to Pokhara today via air.

He was apprehended on Sunday in connection with the embezzlement of funds from the Surya Darshan Cooperative.

Joshi, who has previously served as a Deputy Inspector General (DIG), was detained in Kathmandu.

The parliamentary investigation committee led by Surya Thapa has recommended action against Joshi, along with GB Rai, Rabi Lamichhane, and Kumar Ramtel, to the government.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has directed the police to implement the committee’s report today.

The Council of Ministers had decided to act on the report during its meeting on Sept 18.
