Three-day custody extension granted for investigation of Durga Prasai

KATHMANDU: Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai has been granted a three-day extension for investigation.

Prasai was arrested on Sunday from his residence in Bhaktapur and was presented before the Kathmandu District Court for further investigation.

The bench of Judge Bal Krishna Wagley at the District Court extended Prasai’s custody for an additional three days to allow for further investigation.

A complaint had been lodged against him at the Cyber Bureau.

Based on that complaint, the Bureau sought permission from the Kathmandu District Court to conduct an investigation.

After receiving approval from the court, Prasai was arrested.

He was taken into custody by the police under charges related to the Electronic Transactions Act.
