KATHMANDU: NMB Bank Limited, DV Excellus Pvt. Ltd. (Kheti App), and Bagmati Rural Municipality, Makwanpur, have signed a tripartite agreement to provide NMB Digital Loans (Kheti Loans) to farmers and individuals engaged in agricultural businesses within the municipality.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Buddhi Malla, Head of Microfinance and MSME at NMB Bank, Neuraj Karki, Co-founder of DV Excellus Pvt. Ltd., and Sarkesh Ghalan, Chairman of Bagmati Rural Municipality.

As part of a previous agreement between NMB Bank and DV Excellus Pvt. Ltd., NMB Bank has been offering fully digital agricultural loans through the Kheti App to farmers and agribusiness owners.

The inclusion of Bagmati Rural Municipality in this collaboration is aimed at making loan investment more accessible to individuals involved in agriculture, thus improving the financial well-being of local farmers.

The three entities have agreed to run financial literacy programs, facilitate eligible farmers in accessing loans, offer various advisory services to borrowers, and support loan recovery.

At the event, Chairman Sarkesh Ghalan expressed his commitment to modernizing agriculture in the municipality and pledged further support to encourage farmers to engage in agribusiness.

He emphasized the goal of establishing financial discipline among the borrowers and turning the municipality into a model rural area through successful agricultural ventures.

The event was also attended by the municipality’s Vice Chair, ward chairpersons, agricultural officers, and other officials.

Launched last year in Bagmati and Gandaki Stataes, the NMB Kheti Loan is now set to expand nationwide.

NMB Bank currently offers high-quality services through its 201 branches, 187 ATMs, and 11 extension counters across the country.
