Gorkha Media Network director Chhabilal Joshi arrested

KATHMANDU: Gorkha Media Network’s operator and former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Chhabilal Joshi, was arrested by authorities on Sunday in connection with the misappropriation of funds from Surya Darshan Cooperative.

Joshi was apprehended from Kathmandu following directives from a parliamentary investigation committee led by Sanyu Thapa.

The committee had recommended action against Joshi, along with other individuals named in the investigation, including GB Rai, Rabi Lamichhane, and Kumar Ramtel.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak had instructed the police to implement the investigation committee’s report earlier today, which led to Joshi’s immediate arrest.

Police are preparing to transfer him to Pokhara for further proceedings.
