KATHMANDU: As part of Huawei’s commitment to fostering future ICT talent and cross-cultural understanding, the six winners of the Seeds for the Future 2024 program are preparing to represent Nepal in the regional Tech4Good competition to be held in China this September.

This program is a hallmark initiative of Huawei’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, empowering young students with critical skills to drive digital innovation and societal progress.

After severe rounds of selection and evaluation, these top six students, Aashish Karki, Angelina Ghimire, Priyanshu Sharma, Sadhana Panthi, Samip Aryal, and Samriddhi Karki, emerged as winners among a competitive pool of over 300 applicants.

Their journey is set to continue in China, where they will compete alongside international peers in the Tech4Good Regional Competition, gaining access to world-class training, mentorship, and real-world business experience.

The regional competition in China will provide the students with hands-on experience in digital power solutions, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, while also offering a unique opportunity to engage with local and international industry leaders. They will also engage in cross-cultural exchanges and hands-on workshops, interacting with experts from Huawei’s global research and development centers.

In addition to the competition, the participants will explore China’s vibrant digital landscape, interact with emerging tech companies, and deepen their understanding of ICT’s role in shaping a smarter, more connected world.

This year’s Seeds for the Future program has been pivotal in identifying and nurturing local ICT talent, while encouraging a culture of innovation and social responsibility.

The program, launched in Nepal in 2019, has already inspired dozens of students to take bold steps towards shaping the future of the nation’s tech landscape.

The Seeds for the Future initiative, part of Huawei’s global CSR efforts, has benefited over 18,000 students from 141 countries since its inception in Thailand in 2008.

In Nepal, the program continues to create opportunities for students to excel, fostering a new generation of leaders ready to champion the digital transformation of their communities.
