Mayor Balen Shah’s supporters assaulted at National Day concert
The assault took place during the “National Day Concert,” which began at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
KATHMANDU: Supporters of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah were assaulted in Durbar Marg, the capital.
The incident occurred when another group of youths attacked those chanting slogans in favor of Balen Shah.
The assault took place during the “National Day Concert,” which began at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
According to eyewitnesses, a group of about five individuals attacked the young man who was chanting “Balen! Balen!”
The identities of the attackers are yet to be determined, and they fled the scene immediately after the assault.
The concert, organized on the occasion of Constitution Day, saw a large gathering of youths waving national flags.
Performances by artists such as Anand Karki, Kunti Moktan, Devika Bandana, Sugam Pokharel, Deepak Limbu, Pramod Kharel, Suwani Moktan, and Swapna Suman were scheduled for the event.
Prime Minister KP Oli was also expected to attend the concert later in the evening, according to his secretariat.
