Free prosthetic limbs distributed to 6,500 individuals (photos)

KATHMANDU: The Marwadi Sewa Samiti Nepal has distributed free prosthetic limbs at the Pashupati Gaushala Dharmashala on the occasion of Constitution Day.

This initiative was jointly organized by the Marwadi Sewa Samiti, Pashupati Gaushala Dharmashala, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Social Development of Bagmati State.

Rajesh Agrawal, General Secretary of Pashupati Gaushala Dharmashala, informed that 6,500 individuals were provided with prosthetic limbs during the event.

The program aimed to empower people with disabilities by providing them with artificial limbs, enabling them to lead more independent lives.

He mentioned that the program is not limited to the Kathmandu Valley but extends to other districts.

The organization also provides accommodation and food for those who come to Kathmandu for the service.

Agrawal highlighted that their support has had a positive impact on many lives.

He also mentioned that donations for nine prosthetic limbs were received during the event, with each limb costing approximately Rs 25,000.

The event was attended by Bagmati State’s Health Minister, Kiran Magar, and Social Development Minister, Hariprabha Khadgi.
