KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has extended his best wishes on the occasion of the 9th Constitution Day.

He wished all the Nepalis on the occasion of eight years of Constitution Day.

In his message, Dr. Koirala reflected on the aspirations and struggles of the Nepali people, emphasizing the importance and necessity of the constitution.

He highlighted that the drafting process of Nepal’s current constitution began 70 years ago, with a significant contribution from Nepali Congress leader BP Koirala.

Dr. Koirala underscored how the constitution defines the rights and duties of individuals, noting that Nepal’s constitution has gained worldwide recognition.

He also described the constitution as a dynamic document, advocating for necessary amendments and reforms.

However, he criticized the leaders in power for failing to properly implement the constitution, thereby harming its core essence.

He urged all Nepalis to honor the constitution and actively participate in shaping the country’s future. “The constitution has united Nepal and Nepalis politically and emotionally,” Dr. Koirala remarked, “We must see it as a shared achievement and a blueprint for our future.”
