For the time being, the fare has been set at Rs 20.
KATHMANDU: To enhance public transportation services for city residents, Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City has launched four electric buses starting today.
According to Mayor Hemkarna Paudel, the bus routes have been designed to cover all four major areas of Itahari, marking the beginning of this new service.
Despite the expansion of road networks, public transportation has not been regularly available in all parts of Itahari.
This initiative aims to provide a more convenient travel option for the residents.
The service will operate daily, with buses running from 7 AM to 11 AM in the morning, and from 2 PM to 7 PM in the evening.
For the time being, the fare has been set at Rs 20.
The buses were purchased by the Sub-Metropolitan City on Aug 6 at a cost of NPR 63.6 million.
The electric buses are also accessible to individuals with disabilities, ensuring ease of travel for all passengers.
