Newly elected committee Chairs take oath

KATHMANDU: National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal administered the oath of office to the newly elected chairpersons of two subject committees today.

In a ceremony held at Singha Durbar, newly elected Chairpersons Tulasa Kumari Dahal of the Legislative Management Committee and Maya Prasad Sharma of the Public Policy and Allocated Legislation Committee took their oaths in the presence of Chair Dahal.

It is customary for newly elected committee chairs to take their oaths before the Chairman of the National Assembly. Both chairpersons were elected in today’s committee elections.

Following the oath-taking, the Chairman congratulated the new chairs with the presentation of khadas and flower garlands.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasia, Deputy Chairperson of the National Assembly Bimala Ghimire, and leaders of political parties represented in the National Assembly.
