Congress-affiliated Baral wins by a large margin as Chair of Engineers’ Association
Baral secured victory with 4,842 votes, while his closest competitor Pandey garnered 2,810 votes.
KATHMANDU: Subash Chandra Baral from the Center for Democratic Engineers (CEDEN) has been elected as the Chair of the Nepal Engineers’ Association.
According to the election results announced last night, Baral defeated his rival Bishnu Prasad Pandey by a margin of 2,072 votes.
Baral secured victory with 4,842 votes, while his closest competitor Pandey garnered 2,810 votes.
Baral is affiliated with CEDEN, an organization close to the Nepali Congress, and many candidates from CEDEN were elected in the election.
Other winners include Prakash KC as Vice Chair, Binod Prakash Pandit as General Secretary, Anil Manandhar as Deputy General Secretary, Suman Thapa as Treasurer, and Krishna Prasad Pokharel as Deputy Treasurer, according to the Election Committee.
In addition, the elected members are Ram Krishna Paudel, Prabhuram Pokharel, Amendra Gurung, Anil Paudel, Sanjay Kumar Shah, Netra Prasad Devkota, Bhairav Dhital, Sujan Shrestha, Lokendra Adhikari, Bikram Kumar Das, Priyanka Gupta, and Jaykishun Rai.
