KATHMANDU: The District Police Office has reported two murders within two days in Shivasatakshi Municipality and Arjundhara Municipality.

According to Superintendent of Police Milan KC, the incidents occurred on Friday night in Shivasatakshi and Saturday night in Arjundhara.

On Saturday night, 19-year-old Manisha Lohar from Fikkal, Suryaodaya Municipality-10, Ilam, was stabbed to death at Mahananda Chowk in Arjundhara Municipality-6.

The police have arrested 20-year-old Anil BK from Gaurigunj Municipality-3, Kailali, in connection with the murder.

BK reportedly stabbed Lahor multiple times before attempting to flee, but locals apprehended him and handed him over to the police.

Lohar, who was critically injured in the attack, was rushed to B&C Hospital in Birtamode, where she succumbed to her injuries later that night.

In a separate incident on Friday night, Ram Prasad Sitoula, a resident of Sital Chowk, Shivasatakshi Municipality-8, was killed by his elder brother, Narayan Sitaula, after an alcohol-fueled dispute.

According to police, the brothers were drinking together when a quarrel broke out, leading Narayan to fatally strike Ram Prasad with a wooden log.

The police promptly arrested Narayan, and an investigation is ongoing, according to SP Milan KC of the District Police Office in Jhapa.
