Prachanda urges PM Oli to recommend constitutional appointments by tomorrow

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has intensified the discussion for the preparation of the meeting of the Constitutional Council.

Prime Minister Oli on Thursday held talks with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The discussions took place at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar and focused on preparations for the Friday meeting of the Council and other current issues, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

During the meeting, Prachanda suggested that the Constitutional Council should expedite the recommendation process for the vacant positions in the constitutional bodies.

He urged that the vacancies be filled as soon as possible from the upcoming Council meeting on Friday, or otherwise, reach a new agreement to swiftly address all vacant positions.

Prachanda’s Secretariat noted that no other topics were discussed during the meeting with the top leaders.
