KATHMANDU: A Palestinian individual driving a semi-trailer truck in the West Bank has caused the death of an Israeli soldier, according to the Israeli military.
The incident occurred near the city of Rafat, close to Ramallah in central West Bank.
The fuel truck was traveling at high speed towards Israeli soldiers stationed outside the settlement of Givat Assaf near Ramallah.
The collision resulted in the death of one soldier.
The Israeli military identified the fallen soldier as 24-year-old Sergeant Gidion Hangal.
Amidst ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including persistent Israeli attacks in the West Bank and over 11 months of hostilities in Gaza, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
