Diego Gómez scored the decisive goal for Paraguay in the 20th minute. Brazil now sits in fifth place in the standings with 10 points from eight games.

Paraguay, with nine points from eight games, is in seventh place. Argentina tops the table with 18 points, followed by Colombia with 16 points, Uruguay with 15 points, and Ecuador with 11 points.

In a previous match, World Cup champions Argentina were defeated 2-1 by Colombia, who avenged their loss in the Copa América final. Notably, Lionel Messi was absent from the Argentine squad.
