BP Koirala’s policies still relevant today: Forest Minister Thakuri

KATHMANDU: Minister of Forests and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri, stated that the policies introduced by BP Koirala remain relevant even today.
Speaking at a tree-planting ceremony on the occasion of BP Koirala’s 111th birth anniversary, held on Monday at Singha Durbar, Minister Thakuri emphasized the enduring significance of Koirala’s vision of democratic socialism.
He noted that BP’s approach to democratic and socialist ideals continues to be pertinent in the current context.
The minister remarked that the more BP Koirala is remembered, the greater respect the country fosters towards democracy, republicanism, and people’s rights.
He also expressed that the tree planted in Koirala’s memory would play an important role in contributing to environmental sustainability and broader environmental issues in Nepal.
