UML Chief Whip, Mahesh Bartaula, urges govt to address Panchthar bomb explosion in Parliament

KATHMANDU: Chief Whip of the CPN (UML), Mahesh Bartaula, has called on the government to immediately inform the parliament about the bomb explosion in Panchthar.
Speaking during the emergency session of the House of Representatives on Monday, Bartaula expressed sorrow over the tragic incident that occurred on Bhadra 13 (Aug 29), where two children from the same family lost their lives, and two others were injured due to an abandoned bomb explosion.
Bartaula mentioned that the bomb was reportedly left behind during the Maoist armed conflict, as indicated by various media reports, and demanded that the responsible parties be held accountable.
He emphasized the need for the government to take such incidents seriously and expedite the investigation.
Furthermore, Bartaula urged the government to focus on identifying areas where the then-rebel Maoists might have left behind unexploded bombs, to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
