KATHMANDU: An ambulance and an anesthesia machine have been donated to the Thapathali Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital.
The donation was made through the Bagmati State Assembly Member Dipendra Shrestha’s initiative, with funding provided by the state government.
During the handover ceremony held at the hospital today, MP Shrestha assured that the provincial government is prepared to continue supporting the hospital with necessary equipment in the future. He stated, “We are committed to constructing a cable car bridge that will connect the Kuppondol branch of the maternity hospital to the main hospital building. This will facilitate easier access for service recipients.”
Ward Chair Hari Lal Tandukar of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-11 highlighted the ward’s proactive role in the health sector and expressed a commitment to establishing a ‘Maternity Park’ for new mothers.
Dr. Shree Prasad Adhikari, the hospital director, expressed confidence that such support will continue in the future. He noted, “We have been receiving assistance from both the federal and provincial governments. We expect this support to be ongoing. We are grateful for the help provided, especially when the hospital’s budget is insufficient for such needs.”
Dr. Adhikari informed that the anesthesia machine is already operational, and the ambulance will be put into service starting today.
