China activates emergency response as Super Typhoon Yagi hits Yunnan Province

KATHMANDU: China has activated emergency response efforts as Super Typhoon Yagi continues to impact the country.

The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has reported that Yunnan Province has surpassed the flood risk level.

The Ministry of Emergency Management, in coordination with the Ministry of Water Resources and other government agencies, has issued joint directives for the repair of damaged infrastructure and the provision of relief to affected residents.

As of now, there have been no reported human casualties due to the storm.
