Kenyan President orders investigation after school fire claims 17 lives

KATHMANDU: Kenyan President William Ruto has ordered an investigation following a tragic fire at a school that claimed the lives of 17 children.

The fire also left 13 others seriously injured.

The fire occurred at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri, and Ruto has vowed that those responsible will face justice.

He also directed government agencies to mobilize resources to assist the victims.

According to police reports, the children who lost their lives were between the ages of seven and eleven.

National Police Service spokesperson Resila Onyango said that a team of security experts is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
