KATHMANDU: A Shree Airlines flight bound for Surkhet from Kathmandu had to return to Kathmandu shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue.

The SHA 121 flight encountered a technical issue, leading to the precautionary landing.

Rinji Sherpa, the Airport Spokesman, explained that a problem was detected by the plane’s indicator within minutes of departure.

He clarified that the situation was not an emergency landing but a diversion.

The aircraft, which had covered 30 nautical miles, was brought back to Kathmandu Airport because its wheel steering had locked.

According to Sherpa, other flights from the airport are continuing to operate normally.

Shree Airlines manager Anil Manandhar added that passengers from the affected flight were accommodated on an alternative flight to reach their destination.
