Dengue: 1,065 infected & 2 deaths reported in Jhapa
In the past two months, 128 dengue cases were reported in Jhapa.
KATHMANDU: A total of 1,065 people have contracted dengue in Koshi State over the past two years. During this period, two fatalities were reported in Jhapa due to dengue.
The victims were Bimala Dahal Paudel, 42, from Haldibari-3, and eight-year-old Alok Jung Basnet from Birtamod-4, according to Birendra Das, the dengue focal person from the health office.
In the past two months, 128 dengue cases were reported in Jhapa.
Morang leads the province in infections with 532 cases, followed by Jhapa with 81, Dhankuta with 80, and Sunsari with 70 cases.
Surakchya Khatri, the Focal Person of the Health Directorate, Dhankuta, also reported other cases: 69 in Udayapur, 68 in Bhojpur, 67 in Sankhuwasabha, 29 in Okhaldhunga, 21 in Panchthar, six in Solukhumbu, five in Ilam, four in Khotang, and two in Terhathum.
In Jhapa, 22 cases were recorded in Damak, seven in Haldibari, and five in Bhadrapur.
