KATHMANDU: Lumbini State MP Dhan Bahadur KC (DB) has been sent to prison after being convicted in a forgery case.

KC, who surrendered at the Rukum East District Court, was sent to prison, according to DSP Madhav Kharel.

Thirty-three years ago, the then Rukum District Court found him guilty of forgery and sentenced him to one year in prison along with a fine of two thousand rupees. Since then, he had been on the run.

The case was filed against KC, accusing him of forgery in a property dispute with his wife.

He was found guilty by the court, which sentenced him to one year in prison and imposed a fine of two thousand rupees.

KC was elected in the last election from Rukum East Constituency No. 1 (1) representing the Nepali Congress.

Before entering politics, he was accused of being involved in illegal human trafficking, sending people to the United States through unauthorized means.
