Minister Devendra Dahal announces Trauma Centers for high-risk accident zones

KATHMANDU: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, has announced that the ministry is working on a plan to establish trauma centers in areas with high rates of road accidents.

Speaking at a discussion on road safety at the ministry on Sunday, Minister Dahal emphasized that the initiative is being pursued in coordination with relevant ministries.

He highlighted the critical issue of fatalities occurring due to the lack of immediate medical assistance in accidents.

The government is serious about addressing this concern and is working to systematically improve the situation.

Dahal noted that the Road Safety Council has been operational only through orders and that the government is now moving to expedite the creation of necessary laws through a fast-track process.

Additionally, Minister Dahal mentioned plans to improve traffic light management in the Kathmandu Valley and to address issues related to potholes.

The government is committed to making Nepal free of such road hazards.
