TikTok ban fully lifted in Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has officially announced the lifting of the ban on TikTok, effective from today.

In a notice issued by the Authority, all internet and mobile service providers have been instructed to remove the restrictions on TikTok access.

The Prachanda-led government had imposed the ban on TikTok on 13 Nov, 2023.

However, the Oli-led government, in a cabinet meeting held on Aug 22, decided to reopen the platform for the public.
