KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to visit the United States to participate in the United Nations General Assembly.

The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday approved Prime Minister Oli’s visit to the U.S.

Along with the Prime Minister, his wife Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, and Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal will also attend the General Assembly, according to sources.

This will be Prime Minister Oli’s first foreign visit since assuming office.

The 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly is scheduled to take place in New York from Sept 10 to 28.

Heads of state from around the world will participate in the assembly, which will focus on discussing global problems and challenges, as stated by the UN.
