Two dead, one missing after flood sweeps away motorcycle & Scooter in Baglung

KATHMANDU: Two people have died, and one is missing after being swept away by a flood in Bandre River, Baglung Municipality-4, last night.

A motorcycle with the license plate number Dha 2 Pa 8010 and a scooter with the license plate Dha 1 Pa 9996 were carried away by the floodwaters.

According to Baglung District Police Inspector Pratap Paudel, 23-year-old Arjun Sapkota and 22-year-old Aveshik Regmi, both residents of Bandre Adhaithar in Baglung-4, lost their lives after being swept away by the flood.

The body of Kamal Sapkota, a 20-year-old from the same village, is still missing.

The bodies of Sapkota and Regmi were found approximately 200 meters downstream and have been taken to Dhaulagiri Hospital in Baglung for post-mortem examination, Inspector Paudel stated.

Search efforts are underway for Kamal, but continuous rainfall is hindering the rescue operation.
