Monsoon affecting weather across the country: Heavy rainfall expected in some areas

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Forecast Division, has reported that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds.

According to the weather bulletin issued by the division, there is partial to moderate cloud cover across the country.
Light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, is occurring in some parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini States, as well as a few locations in other States.
Heavy rainfall is expected in one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, and Gandaki States.
In the afternoon, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim States, with a few locations in other States also likely to experience rain. One or two places in Koshi and Gandaki States may see heavy rainfall.
The forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that some areas in all provinces will experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, and Gandaki States.
The division has urged the public to take necessary precautions to avoid potential risks such as landslides, floods, and soil erosion.
These hazards could affect daily life, as well as sectors like agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and both road and air transportation.
