KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel honored Palesha Govardhan and her team, the bronze medalist from the Paris Paralympics, in a ceremony held at Sheetal Niwas.

During the event, President Paudel and First Lady Savita Paudel draped Palesha with a garland and shawl as a mark of respect.

They also extended congratulations and best wishes to her coach, Kavi Raj Negi Lama.

After the honor, President Paudel expressed his congratulations to Palesha, acknowledging her achievement as a matter of national pride and expressing hope for a gold medal in future events.

The ceremony was marked by a welcoming performance by a contingent of the Nepal Army.

The event was attended by Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary, Palesha’s parents, and officials from the sports federation.

Palesha earned her bronze medal in the women’s 57 kg category of taekwondo (K-44) by defeating a Serbian competitor at the Paris Paralympics.
