KATHMANDU: Palesha Govardhan, who won a historic bronze medal for Nepal at the Para Olympics, was given a grand welcome upon her arrival.
Thousands of supporters greeted her at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Wednesday morning.
Following the airport reception, Palisha and her team were taken on a city tour, passing through various locations including the airport, Gaushala, Purano Baneshwor, Maitidevi, Dillibazar, Bagbazar, Bhadrakali, Shahid Gate, and Tripureshwor Chowk.
She was then escorted to the National Sports Council premises.
Palesha won the bronze medal last Friday night.
This is Nepal’s first medal in any Olympic sport.
According to government regulations on awards, Palesha is set to receive Rs 6.5 million as a reward.
